Diseño de un plan de emergencia y contingencia según la Norma NFPA 2010 en la empresa Metálicas Pillapa del cantón Pelileo.

Abstract

The main objective of the present work of qualification is to design an emergency and contingency Plan in the metal company Pillapa of the Canton Pelileo. To meet the objective, the following methodology is applied: first, the current situation of the company is analyzed; second, the risk of fire is assessed; third, the emergency, evacuation and contingency plan is drawn up; fourth, a drill is performed to evaluate the plan`s efficiency. Data collection techniques such as observation, interview and questionnaires are applied to the current situation analysis; the risk of fire is assessed by the Meseri method; the emergency plan is based on the provisions of the Secretary of Risk management and NFPA regulations; the efficiency of the plan is determined by a mock assessment questionnaire. The results of the evaluation were obtained: fire protection coefficient equal to 2,5; evacuation time equal to 1,5 minutes; Simulation efficiency score equal to 126/126. In conclusion it was determined that the fire load of metallic Pillapa is of low propagation and low power, however in terms of parameters of the method Meseri is considered serious and not acceptable therefore metallic Pillapa must implement the plan of emergency. Finally, it is recommended; periodically update the emergency plan according to the vulnerabilities that are presented to the future in the company
