Diseño de un sistema de rutas turísticas en el cantón Isabela, provincia de Galápagos

Abstract

This research proposes to design a system of tourist routes in canton Isabela, province of Galapagos. Through a participatory process, the evaluation of the tourist potential of the area was conducted, analyzing the conditions of both: supply and demand. With an analysis of actors and the problematization, the basic guidelines for structuring technically the route system are set out. The designed routes integrate the 37 tourist attractions validated in the inventory, grouping them according to their characteristics and closeness, obtaining five tourist routes, two land routes and three sea routes. For the operation, tourist packages are prepared taking into account the requirements for travel and tourist preferences for the development of activities. Finally strategies for the promotion and dissemination of the routes were established taking into account the investments that could be implemented by Isabela cantonal GAD in the framework of its powers and responsibilities. It is concluded that the work is an important initiative for productive development and promotion of population’s economic activities who has invested in the tourism sector, since the local entrepreneurship, as well as the sites of visit that possess the opening permits from MAE and Direction of National Park have been incorporated strategically in the offer.
