Determinación de la calidad del agua del río Maguazo por medio del método WQI en el periodo abril a junio del 2016.

Abstract

The aim was determining quality of the wáter in the water in the Maguazo river, Pungalá parish, Riobamba canton, by means of the WQI method during the period April – June 2016, the analysis of the Physical – chemical parameters Water Quality Index (WQI) was performed, in the habitat study in the sampling zones through Riparian Forest Quality Index (QBR) and the fluvial habitat Index (HIF). During the Project, three monthly samplings were taken in 3 diferent points, the first point is in the high zone, to about 100 meters of a wooden bridge, point 2 in the middle zone, the reference point EP-EMAPAR, the water catchment will be done, the third point lower zone, under the bridge connecting Peltec and Alao communities. The parameters were analyzed with the mullti-parameters, fewer phosphates and nitrates which were carried out at the Laboratory of Water Quality SENAGUA, the caudal was determined by the SEBA pinwheel, they varied depending on the month, April and May with the higher caudal tan June but permanently remaining over 1000L/s, the index QBR showed a range higher to 80 in all the points, providing a result of slightly good quality of forest and the HIF a range higher to 53 and no high to 64 in all the points evidencing a average hábitat diversity, the water quality (WQI) in the three points in April and May is average, whilst in July points 1,2 have good quality and in poin 3 the quality is medium. The Mguazo river shows a medium water quality after performing the study, hence an adequate management must be considered for its care, preservation and treatment in order to be considered for its care, perservation and treatment in order to be able for human consumption.
