Rehabilitación y repotenciación del motor de un vehículo LAND ROVER de 1986 para taller móvil de la escuela de Ingeniería Automotriz-ESPOCH

Abstract

An engine SD22 was repaired, analyzed and overhauled in this project. Information was looked for by means of an analysis of the elements and similar studies in order to carry out a diagnosis of the current engine situation. Some broken down and missing parts were identified to be repaired or substituted and the engine can run. After changing some things with the corresponding measures and calibrations, the engine was overhauled by means of turbocharger implementation, selection, checking and turbo engine trial calcula for the most appropriate adaptation of the turbocharger. A potentiation analysis was carried out by tests in the dinamometric bench of ESPOCH. The results were torque values, effective power and specific consumption before and after of the potentiation. There was an increase of 6,63CV (52,7 %) in effective power, consumption savings of combustible of 0,17kg/CV.h (35,4 %) and a torque increase of 3,37kg.m (48 %) when the turbocharger TB28 was implemented. These values increased up 1400 RPM. A maintenance plan was established so that, the engine can operate and keep its useful life, keeping in mind the quantity of additive oil which will allow the engine to work the best. It is recommended to use the oil SAE 20W40, lubricate the turbocharger before it starts to run, keep the engine on during after working and continue with the maintenance plan.
