Proyecto de factibilidad para la creación de una caja de ahorro en la parroquia Cunchibamba, cantón Ambato, provincia de Tungurahua, año 2023

Abstract

The feasibility project for a savings and credit cooperative creation in the Cunchibamba parish, Ambato canton, Tungurahua province, year 2023, was developed due to the absence of financial institutions where small entrepreneurs and agricultural activities could deposit savings or access credit. Therefore, this research aimed to develop a possibility project to determine the viability and scope of the initiative. The research employed both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including surveys of residents, interviews with the president of the parish DAG (Decentralized Autonomous Government), and a diagnosis of the current situation using the SWOT matrix. By means of, the findings revealed a deficit of professionally trained personnel in cooperative administration, a lack of strategic administrative plans, inexperience in savings and credit cooperatives, and a low initial budget. Additionally, 91% of the residents showed motivation to support the project. The proposal includes reducing financial illiteracy among many residents who lack trust in the financial system but are interested in becoming members of the savings and credit cooperative. At that point, the project demonstrates its feasibility not only in financial terms but also with a more significant focus on the financial inclusion of a population segment that is mostly excluded from the national financial system.
