Abstract

The objective of this investigative study was to analyze the techniques used by EDIPCENTRO in the production of the copy "Mi praxis 4" Language and Literature subject from the fourth year of Basic Education in printed and digital versions through composition patterns that identified its graphic level. The inductive method of mixed documentary bibliographic approach was applied; later, school textbooks were analyzed by technical sheets; the composition patterns, layout fundamentals, and grid elements were examined, comparing the evolution of didactic material post-pandemic and the change of study modality. In addition, surveys were carried out with students, teachers, and parents to find out the importance of graphic techniques in those who use the material. The results of the qualitative analysis through matrices indicated the transition from the printed school text to the digital one with better accuracy, improving aspects previously erroneously carried out such as the visual rest obtained through the Sophia Platform, and conserving other graphic aspects of a version to the other. On the other hand, the statistical data resulting from the surveys showed the acceptance by the respondents of the school text with a total of 94% acceptance and reception, allowing the validation of the hypothesis approach. In conclusion, the importance of the execution layout elements in a didactic material was established and verified. The change in study modality was rooted in the aesthetic and functional development of school textbooks, aspects that influence and affect the purchase decision. It is recommended to carry out an analysis of layout techniques in school textbooks of other kinds, educational categories, or publishers to associate with the operation that these have, using reliable sources for the collection of information.
