Plan de salvaguardia del patrimonio cultural inmaterial, referido a la práctica de tejido con totora en la parroquia San Gerardo, cantón Guano, provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

This technical project presented the Intangible Cultural Heritage Safeguarding Plan, related to Totora reed weaving in San Gerardo village, Guano canton, Chimborazo province; it was carried out through the application of analytical, descriptive, and field methods. The research was executed if four stages: the first consisted of the spatial characterization of the territory through the five-star analysis; in the second stage the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) was registered, through the registration form of the National Institute of cultural Heritage (INPC); the third stage stablished the state of vulnerability of the ICH based on three criteria: transmission, memory, and identity; the fourth stage formulated the philosophical, strategic and operational approach; the philosophical-strategic approach was divided into three moments; analytical moment the matrix was made, prioritization of critical nodes and key success factors, analysis of stakeholders, mapping of actors; philosophical moment developed the mission and vision; strategic moment formulated strategic objectives, strategies, programs and projects; the operational approach was developed the Annual Operational Plan (POA) of the programs. As for the results, the spatial characterization made it possible to know the reality of the territory; in the second stage seven cultural manifestations identified in the area of traditional handicraft techniques were recorded; the third stage determined that six manifestations are still in force; the philosophical-strategic approach prioritized four critical nodes and five key success factors; the strategic moment formulated 4 programs and 6 projects; the final budget of the programs was $10,236.00. In fact, this research made it possible to formulate programs and projects to keep the community´s PCI alive and with this, it was recommended to the population review these programs and projects, in order to subsequently execute them.
