Diseño de un plan de señalización vial para el centro urbano de la ciudad de Francisco de Orellana

Abstract

The objective of this research project was to design a road signage plan for the urban center of the city of Francisco de Orellana to improve traffic flow through the application of current national regulations. The study began with a diagnosis of the current situation to determine the state of the vertical and horizontal signage, using the observation sheet and vehicle gauging instruments, where it was determined that there is a shortage of road signs on the roads studied, as well as the geometry of the roads, volume of intercession, peak and off-peak hours. It was determined that there are 387 regular signs, 2 preventive signs, 3 informative signs, and 6 school zone signs, which do not meet the appropriate specifications and standards according to INEN-004 part 001 and the horizontal signs were identified in the streets Loja, 12 February, and 6 December, February 12 and December 6 should be implemented what is a zebra crossing, wall line, lane division, and edge lines and also in Ambato Street the respective maintenance should be done continuously because the city is humid climate, therefore, tends to deteriorate faster.
