Plan de salvaguardia del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la parroquia de San Gerardo, cantón Guano, provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

This technical project aimed the elaboration of a Safeguarding Plan of the Intangible Cultural Heritage through the registration and diagnosis of cultural manifestations in San Gerardo village, belonging to Guano Canton from Chimborazo province. This work consisted in carrying out the spatial diagnosis of the territory using S-star methodology, which are: Physical-spatial, Socio-cultural, Ecological-territorial, Economic-productive and Political-Institutional, within the diagnosis techniques such as interviews, meetings, field trips and review of bibliographic sources were used in order to record the cultural manifestations of the village and thus be able to apply various processes that raise the safeguard plans as: strategic, philosophical and operational moment, which helped to safeguard and revitalize its PCI, finally programs and projects that contributed to preserve the intangible cultural heritage of the locality are raised. In addition, the registration of cultural manifestations was carried out through the use of a technical tool such as the ICH registration forms established by the National Institute of Cultural Heritage of Ecuador. The result of the spatial characterization determined that there are 8 neighborhoods within the village, 16 events were also registered which are distributed in 6% of highly vulnerable manifestations, 94% of current manifestations and no vulnerable manifestations were found, then the SWOT matrix was made where 8 critical nodes and 9 key success factors were identified, finally it was possible to develop 4 programs with 7 projects for the transmission, dissemination, safeguarding, valuation, implementation, revitalization and promotion of the cultural events. To sum up, a safeguarding plan should be developed for those manifestations that are in a highly vulnerable state. It is recommended that the authorities make a good use of the cultural resources present in San Gerardo village.
