Plan de salvaguardia del patrimonio cultural inmaterial de la comuna San José de Calhua Grande, parroquia Augusto Nicolas Martinez del cantón Ambato, provincia de Tungurahua.

Abstract

This research proposed the elaboration of a plan to safeguard the intangible cultural heritage of the rural area (community) called San José de Calhua Grande, in the Augusto N. Martínez town, in Ambato city, Tungurahua province. Several methodologies were used aimed at the identification, investigation, and definition of the safeguard plan. For the first objective, the territorial characterization was developed, the 5-star diagnostic methodology was taken into account and the methodology for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage, allowed to identify the areas, sub-areas and variables that characterize the community. For the second objective, several meetings were held with the head of the community and with the population where the manifestations were registered, through the registration forms established by the National Institute of Cultural Heritage (INPC). For the third objective, the vulnerability of heritage was established, for which, the process and technique of formulation and analysis phase were used, taking into account three parameters like Transmission, Memory, Identity. Finally, for the fourth objective, the philosophical, strategic and operational approach was formulated, which allowed developing the approach of the programs and projects of the safeguard plan. A total of 36 manifestations were registered, of which 53% are highly vulnerable, 36% vulnerable and 11% current manifestations, 2 programs and 5 projects were proposed for the safeguarding of cultural heritage. It was concluded that the rural area of San José de Calhua Grande has cultural heritage which varies in areas of the manifestations, which is a positive aspect for them. So, the application of the safeguard plan is recommended for transmission, dissemination and strengthening of their cultural identity.
