Análisis situacional para la implementación de facilidades turísticas para el sector de Miraflores Alto, cantón Quito, provincia de Pichincha.

Abstract

The present research aimed a situational analysis for the implementation of tourist facilities in Miraflores Alto, Quito canton, and Pichincha province fulfilling three specific objectives: first to characterize the geographical space the methodology of territorial analysis was applied through an evaluation of the territory composed of six variables; through on-site visits and interviews with the representative, validating the information with research documents. Second, for the tourism supply, an inventory of natural and cultural attractions was made using the methodology for the survey of tourism attractions in Ecuador the Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) 2017, tourism products were identified based on the Strategic Plan for Sustainable Tourism Development (PLANDETUR) 2020; the tourism plan of the territory was determined through the use of registration cards to identify the tourism establishments operating within the área. In terms of tourism demand, 383 physical surveys were applied to the national segment in order to determine tourist preferences. Finally, the need to implement tourist facilities were developed from the relevant results from two previous objectives, thus developing the proposal to implement facilities that have favorable conditions and tourist potential. It was found that Miraflores Alto is made up of 4 neighborhoods with 16 attractions: 10 natural and 6 cultural, there are 16 tourist establishments; however, 11 are not registered. The study indicates that the San Luis Alto neighborhood has favorable conditions for the construction of 4 tourist facilities: an information point, viewpoint, and two interpretive trails with an approximate investment of $70,046.20 for the developmentt of natural and local tourism. To sum up, the economic and environmental part of the project is viable; the support of public and private entities and the interest of the population is recommended.
