Abstract

This Technical Project proposed the design of tourist facilities for the Cushcut hill, Licán parish, Riobamba canton, province of Chimborazo. It was used exploratory and descriptive methods for the different objectives where the offer was analyzed based on the current state of the attractions, based on the Methodology for the Hierarchization of Attractions and Generation of Tourist Spaces, the infrastructure of basic services, the available tourist plant, and the superstructure based on the related institutions and the legal framework of the environment. For the market study, the universe and the sample size were determined for a total of 200 surveys and based on these the tourist profile was determined to gather information on the facilities for the attraction. Developing the graphic design of the tourist facilities started with the concept and typologies according to the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador. Then, it proceeded to draw up a planimetry and designed the facilities, in addition to an inventory of interpretive resources with their potential index and resource sheets. Finally, the costs of the facilities were added up to quantify the investment budget. Tourists surveyed preferred facilities with food services, lodging, transportation, etc., followed by places with viewpoints, and restrooms, among others, so the design included a guardhouse, sports fields, playgrounds, a tourist facilitation center (food), restrooms, parking and an interpretive center, a tourist facility with a total cost of US $ 206,458.16. It was concluded that the tourist facilities would promote tourism in Cushcut hill, and it is recommended to implement the design to diversify the parish's tourism offer.
