Abstract

This project proposes: Design a tourist cycling route in the Yaruquíes Village, Riobamba Canton, Chimborazo Province, through the collection of both primary and secondary data and with the survey results. In addition, the cyclists market to whom this project is directed, is economically active, the population from Riobamba Canton. The Yaruquíes village has attractions Tourists of Hierarchy II, which allows having a tourist potential suitable for cycling. The tour is determined by three degrees of difficulty: strong, medium, and easy, for what two categories were established regarding their typology, one for families and another for expert cyclists. In this way its evaluation was established through two elements that are the tourist system and the technical elements for the bicycle, so the results obtained show that this activity can be performed in the village. As for environmental analysis, this project has no greater impact on the environment since Yaruquíes village is an urban área surrounded by a natural environment, also mitigation measures were determined that will reduce negative impacts that generate this activity. To sum, the financial evaluation determined that it is economically viable since the results obtained were a Net Present Value (NPV) of 10,876.63, an Internal Rate of return (IRR) of 19%, and a RBC of 1.30, that is, for every dollar invested there will be 0.30 cents and its investment will be recovered between the third and fourth year during the project performance.
