Evaluación de la implementación del kit de transporte seguro en el transporte público urbano periodo 2015-2020

Abstract

The objective of this study was to carry out an evaluation about the implementation of the safe transport kit in urban public transportation period 2015-2020, through a qualitative-quantitative study to identify positive and negative aspects. For the analysis of the current situation, research instruments such as surveys were applied to users, where positive aspects like the reduction of criminal acts were determined, as well as negative aspects as the kit was not properly socialized to the population in Riobamba city due to these people are not trained by service providers on how to use the kit, the lack of interest and irresponsibility as they do not verify the existence of a safety seal in the kit, and the persistence of criminal acts being steals the most common actions. This instrument was also applied to all service providers where positive aspects were evidenced such as adequate training before the implementation of the kit, knowledge of the existence of authorized workshops to carry out installation, maintenance and uninstallation processes. Among the negative aspects, it was determined the absence of control by the ANT to verify if the kit is working properly. Similarly, both users and service providers agreed about the inapropriate response of Ecu 911 Riobamba to incidents. Finally, interviews were applied to the organizations linked to the project, such as Agencia Nacional de Tránsito and Ecu 911. Therefore, it was concluded that these deficiencies make it difficult to fulfill the objective for which this kit was implemented. The authorities of Riobamba city are recommended to take this study into consideration when making decisions, in benefit of urban public transportion safety.
