Estudio técnico para el direccionamiento, jerarquización y señalización vial en el área urbana y rural del cantón Guamote, provincia de Chimborazo

Abstract

The title work designated as "Technical Study for the Direction, Hierarchization and Road Signaling in the Urban and Rural Area of the Guamote Canton, Province of Chimborazo” aimed at restoring road safety and improving pedestrian and vehicular mobility of the population of the Guamote Canton and through this it was possible to get an orderly traffic within the study area. This research based on the 45153 inhabitants of the Guamote Canton, where 384 surveys and other instruments such as vehicle surveys and observation sheets applied in both the urban and rural parish of the Guamote Canton, so that through the study it was possible to verify the needs of the population regarding road infrastructure, Therefore, the proposal describes the types of road signs that needed to be implemented, establishing the direction and road hierarchy that corresponded to each of the study areas, based on the Ecuadorian technical regulations INEN, the technical specifications of the Roads Law and the NEVI Manual. This proposal achieved systematically, using the AUTOCAD program for its design, informing the public of the exact points where the direction, hierarchy, and road signs of the Guamote Canton are located, thus determining the total road signs and the cost required for their implementation. Finally, we carried this technical study out to reduce congestion, giving priority to a planned and correct pedestrian and vehicular mobility. We recommend implementing this research project, as it will improve mobility within the study area and therefore re-establish road safety, which will contribute significantly to developing the quality of life of the Guamote population.
