Propuesta de jerarquización y señalización vial, de la ciudad de Tena, para mejorar la movilidad

Abstract

The objective of the thesis was to develop a "hierarchical and road signaling proposal in Tena city, to improve mobility", the research was carried out by applying methodologies such as HCM 2000, INEN 004-01: 2011; INEN 004-02: 2011, NEVI 12 year 2013 and an official registration ordinance 378 in Tena canton, where it was possible to analyze vehicular traffic problems, traffic accidents, vehicular congestion, pedestrian and vehicular insecurity, service capacity of the roads, operating speed, deteriorated and scarce horizontal and vertical signaling, non-existent road categorization and a chaotic road network. On the other hand, the road infrastructure of the urban sector shows streets in poor conditions, the same problem evidenced in its sidewalks. The proposal determined that Tena city will establish its road mesh in the following way: 10% main arteries, 17.5% secondary arteries, 32.5% collectors and 40% local; 40% of the two-way streets and 60% unidirectional, in terms of their preference, 47.5% main streets and 52.5% secondary streets; horizontal signaling will be 90% completed whereas the vertical signaling will be 80% completed in order to provide driver and pedestrian safety. It is recommended to implement this research topic with the support of the authorities, including the budget for its execution.
