Plan de desarrollo turístico comunitario para el cantón Sucua, provincia de Morona Santiago, a ejecutarse en el período 2017-2021.

Abstract

The present design of a Community Tourism Development Plan for Sucúa Canton, in Morona Santiago Province, to be implemented in period 2017-2021 has as purpose to strengthen the community tourism and care of the environment by potentializing the tourist offer of the canton and well-being of its inhabitants. For the development of the design, a comprehensive study of the canton was conducted, reviewing documents and available information concerning to the tourism inventory and its attractions. Also a SWOT analysis, a market study and marketing strategies were developed. While collecting the relevant information, as a result, there was found that there is no planning in the tourism field made by local authorities, there is no investment made by the owners of the different tourist attractions. This has led to offer an inadecuate service to tourists. There is not trained staff in different areas such as: restaurants, hotels, delightful fun center. In spite of this, it could be deduced that the population visiting the canton Sucúa has increased compared to previous years, due to the fact that the city has roads in good conditions. It is recommended to implement this Community Tourism Development Plan for Sucúa Canton, as a planning instrument for the implementation of actions to strengthen the community tourism while preserving the balance of nature through the care of tourist resources in the canton
