Diseño de un modelo de gestión de inventarios para la Fábrica Rio Textil, de la ciudad de Riobamba, provincia de Chimborazo

Abstract

This qualification work aims to design a to design an Inventory Management Model for the Rio Textile Factory in the city of Riobamba, Chimborazo Province, in order to guide their executives and administrators a proper handling and control of the materials: materials, supplies and merchandise that the company owns, in a way that contributes to the improvement of the administrative and financial efficiency of the organization. In this sense, in the realization of the Inventory Management Model, it used the descriptive method and all the research techniques and tools necessary for the collection of information were used, which allowed it to make a diagnosis and identify the existing problem in the company in terms of inventories; mention apart merit the employment of the interview made to the Manager and the survey applied to the personnel that manages inventories in the Rio Textil company, through which it was possible to determine that the root of the problem in the matter of inventories lies in the lack of periodic controls of inventories, lack of functions and responsibilities of the personnel properly delimited and segregated, lack of a warehouse manager, among others. These deficiencies can be opportunely counteracted with the application of the proposed model of Inventory Management, which contains: process matrix, flowcharts of the key processes, delimitations of functions and responsibilities of the personnel, which will serve as a guide for an adequate control of inventories, helping to executives make effective decisions that increase profitability in the company.
