Determinación de Mecanismos de Compatibilidad de la NBX100 3COM con Productos Desarrollados ASTERISK. Caso Práctico: Servicio de Telefonía IP ESPOCH

Abstract

A comparative study of computer products developed in Asterisk (Trixbox and Elastix) was carried out, selecting the most appropriate one to design an infrastructure to integrate the existing 3COM NBX100 Telephone System in the Polytechnic School of Chimborazo through the Session Initiation Protocol YEP). The Elastix product was selected because, according to user interface parameters, multilanguage support, extensibility, it exceeded the Trixbox product by 40%. The institution does not have an E1 card at the moment, so a prototype of the Elastix-based IP Telephone System integrated to the Public Convention Network (PSTN) was implemented. We used Linux platform Centos, Elastix software, Openvox card with FX0 and FXS ports for the Elastix server and clients installed X-Lite and Zoiper softphones under the Windows XP platform. With the integration of the prototype to the Conventional Public Network, favorable results of telephone communication were obtained, improving the extensibility, since, Elastix allows the use of 1000 extensions, as well as the scalability, because it can be integrated with new technologies in the future. The result of the research suggests the implementation of the infrastructure design that allows the integration of Elastix with the 3Com IP Telephone System.
