Implementación de un sistema informático para la gestión de datos climáticos en las estaciones meteorológicas de la ESPOCH, a través de la plataforma Java JEE7.

Abstract

The objective of the following investigation was to develop a system in order to manage and apply some statistical modelling to the data provided by the meteorological stations located in the Polytechnic University of Chimborazo (ESPOCH) in the city of Riobamba. In order to identify the problems, some techniques like surveys and observation were applied to the main factors involved in the project. This process was carried out using the Agile Scrum methodology, the development pattern Model, Controller, and View (MVC), JAVA language, the Java Server Faces technology (JSF), JSF framework, Tomcat 8.5 as wed server and Postgre SQL for the database management. This software project has a data management module that manages the archives which have a specific structure. In this phase of the project the .csv (Commaseparated values) format was used. The data integrity is verified by the data cleansing process. In order to fill the missing data, the statistics criteria based on the last records, was applied. The storage of this information allows for further analysis if necessary. The other module presents the stored data applying the statistics ones. Once the system fulfilled the necessities, it was evaluated using the ISO 9126 efficiency and usability norm. The results obtained were: 93 % of usability and 95 % of efficiency. lt is recommended that the archives that are going to be managed, do not have much information because the data cleansing process may be have a less satisfactory performance.
