Metodología para el dimensionamiento del transporte público- caso cantón Tiwintza, provincia de Morona Santiago

Abstract

This degree work named Methodology for the dimensioning of public transport-case Tiwintza canton, of Morona Santiago province, has the purpose of evaluating the current situation of Tiwintza canton, regarding Public Transport, with the purpose of defining the most appropriate methodology that allows dimensioning the exact flotation, to satisfy the mobility needs of the residents. The research for this project was carried out based on the information obtained from the population of the two parishes, through surveys of origin-destination, ascent and descent of passengers, techniques that allowed having q clear idea of what would be the unsatisfied demand in the place. Thus, to be able to determine the necessary number of vehicles and routes to be able to satisfy this demand. The current population of the canton ascends to 10227 inhabitants in its 2 parishes, of which none counts with the service of Public Transport. At the end of the fieldwork and the digitization of the data obtained in the surveys, 5 routes are needed in the canton, 3 routes in Santiago Parish and 2 in San José de Morona Parish, so in this way to satisfy the needs of mobility for the inhabitants of Canton Tiwintza. In conclusion, this methodology allows knowing the current demand necessary for public transport and its respective routes. It is recommended to carry out a study that determines the appropriate rate, according to the traveled distances, travel times and other socioeconomic factors of the canton.
