Estudio de Factibilidad para la creación de una empacadora de frutas y legumbres para la Empresa Pública Municipal Mercado de Productores Agrícolas San Pedro de Riobamba

Abstract

This abstract presents the general Project content. It is also the base for Decentralized Autonomous Government of Riobamba when starting a profitable and sustainable municipal project for the society. It contains a feasibility study for the Empresa Municipal Mercado de Productores Agricola San Pedro de Riobamba located at Chimborazo province, Riobamba canton. Its main activity is to provide agriculture mediation services among producers, dealers and consumers. This Public Enterprise is not sustainable since it has a lot of troubles due the lack of self – financing. Its incomes come from platform rent to dealers and the parking payment. It is not generating money or work; it only invest on more market shelter construction. The project feasibility was determined through a situational diagnosis which was carried out to get macro-environment and micro-environment information to know how competitive the project is internally and externally. Then investigation techniques were used to gather information for the supply and demand projections. Thus, an unsatisfied demand was determined. From the price analysis, it was possible to determine its competitiveness. Location, architecture, optimal plant size, financial and economical evaluation with their projections in the worst-case scenario is established with technical investigation. Essential calculations were done to determine the investment project feasibility such as net present value, internal rate of return, cost/benefit and the investment recovery period.
