Evaluación de diferentes niveles de harina de cabezas de camarón para la alimentación de cuyes en la etapa de gestación - lactancia

Abstract

In the El Rosario parish of Canton Guano, the use of shrimp heads meal was evaluated in the feeding of guinea pigs during gestation - lactation stage. Three treatments based on shrimp head meal were used to be compared with a control treatment. A number of 40 six-month-old guinea pigs of the improved line were used, a Completetely Randomized Design (DCA) was applied, with 10 repetitions and the TUE was of a female guinea pig. The results in terms of productive performance in terms of final weight and weight gain of mothers correspond numerically to level 20 and 0 % respectively and for the consumption concentrate variable the best values were reported with the use of 20 %. Regarding the productive behavior of the young, the variable weight of litter at birth reported the best responses when using T3 (0.52 kg) and T1 (0.42 kg), while for other variables such as litter size at birth, young weight at birth, litter size and weight at weaning and young weight at weaning, there were no significant differences. The highest profitability of 28 % was obtained with the inclusion of 30 % of shrimp head meal, reaching a profit / cost of 1.28. The use of shrimp head meal did not positively affect the productive performance of these animals. Therefore, the use of 30 % of shrimp head meal is recommended because the lowest cost of production and the best benefit / cost of guinea pig feeding in the gestation - lactation stage have been recorded.
