Abstract

Educational Manual on handling restrooms design aimed at the Eugenio Espejo School Community. Improving health index and restrooms hygiene sanitation, to enhance knowledge and practices in the Educational Community. The objective is to design an educational manual on handling restrooms aimed at the Eugenio Espejo School Educational Community. Guangaje2011. This research was a cross sectional descriptive study. Techniques for data collection were applied, socio demographic, knowledge and practices characteristics were evaluated about the restrooms handling; the data were tabulated in Microsoft Excel. The results were: socio demographic characteristics, female 60%, male 40%, in ages between 10 and 11 with the 26% and ages 12,13 and younger the 50%, knowledge and practice of the restrooms handling the 67% or children know about hygiene and how to clean the restrooms, the 40% includes personal hygiene care. 79% of participants use the infrastructure to defecate, to urinate 71% and 52% for washing their hands. It was concluded that teachers and children agree with restrooms handling educative manual design led to the Institution, which offers the possibility for this manual to be accepted and used by the Educational Community. It is recommended that Plan International and the Educational Community transmit the Educational Manual to improve the habits and lifestyles in the restrooms management.
