Estudio comparativo de soluciones de balanceo de carga a nivel software y hardware para el Sistema Académico ESPOCH.

Abstract

The objetive was to créate a complete appreciation of the scenario in which the department of Information and Communication Technologies (DTIC); in this way, proposing two types of load balancing solutions; the first comprised by software balancing and the second through hardware balancing. It is included in the job desciptions that can serve as a guide for the election orimplementation of clustering technologies of servers, a brief description, its architecture, notable features and classification, all with the purpose of protecting the reader in a better way throughout the study clearing the doubts about the web services. The solutions chosen for the study were the Network software Load Balancing (NLB) and Citrix Netscaler device. For both solutions are conducted a comprehensive coverage with respect to its characteristics and technical parameters, identified the load distribution algorithms that each one can solve with a concrete definition. It was carried out the implementation of both tolos with the purpose of generating this way data that in turn allow to later créate a phase of comparative analysis between the twwo solutions. The study showed that the hardware solution with regard to the number of connections established is 30% more efficent tha the method by software. It was concluded that the solutions by hardware is the one that best adapts to the network, being a robust system, with an adquisition that becomes an investment that allows win or win. It is recommended once you have found the problema with regard to the system of databases is to take the appropriate corrective measures.
