Diseño de una red de accesos GPON en la ESPOCH para proveer servicios triple-play (voz, video y datos).

Abstract

The aim of the research was to design a Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON) at the escuela superior politécnica de Chimborazo to provide Triple-Play services voice, video and date, it began with the investigation of systems and technologies Optical communications and later the GPON technology and FTTx networks allowing to determine the best architecture for the new network infrastructure was studied. The Project was developed according to three phasee: the first phase an analysis of the existing network of ESPOCH was subsequently desing the GPON network that consists of the Feeder, Distribution and Dispersion Networks was carried out. Finally the respective test were perfomed to check the operation of the project through theoretical calculations and the use of Optisystem Software. The results obtained in this Project are base don the analysis of the nearest user and the remote user considering parameters such as link Budget, Q factor and mínimum BER which were satisfactory since they meet the parameters set by the standard ITU G984.2 The work concludes that the GPON network Access for ESPOCH is flexifle, scalable, and viable and has a permisible band width to provide the service voice, video and data. Therefore, implementation of the network with GPON is recommended, due to its high bandwidth, network security and low investment.
