Plan de desarrollo turístico para el cantón Loreto, provincia de Orellana

Abstract

The current research proposes: To create a Tourism Development Plan for Loreto canton in Orellana province; in order to evaluate the tourist potential of the territory, a diagnosis was elaborated through verified information of the target sector related to the elements of the tourist system: inventory of natural and cultural attractions, infrastructure, plant and superstructure. The inventory of attractions identifies 41 of natural origin which in total correspond to hierarchy I and II, and 12 of cultural origin which no hierarchy; the characterization of demand determines the tourist profile and possible modes of tourism to perform. The philosophical and strategic background was developed through focus groups by using participative workshops and based on the problem the mission, vision, values, strategic objects and policies were stated, these elements define the aims to pursue for the adequate accomplishment of the Plan. Moreover, 4 programs and 20 sustainable projects were determined based on the logical framework with a projection of five years, needing an investment of USD 5'987.158,00 for its implementation. It is concluded that the canton being studied has an important natural and cultural richness, that the application of the current plan states the basis to improve the tourist development having as a result the economic benefits to the inhabitants of the canton, Loreto could turn in a competitive tourist destination in the province and in the country; the execution of this plan is recommended since it is developed based on the needs and current reality.
