Estudio de factibilidad de nuevas rutas de transporte público para el Corredor Calderón, Parroquia Calderón, Ciudad Quito, Provincia de Pichincha, período 2015 - 2016

Abstract

The graduating paper entitled “A FEASIBILITY STUDY OF NEW RROUTES FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN THE CALDERÓN JOURNEY CALDERÓN PARISH, CITY OF QUITO, PICHINCHA PROVINCE, DURING 2015 – 2016” has as its main objective to assess the current situation of Calderón as to determine the feasibility to create new public transport routes that can be integrated to the current transportation system in the Calderón journey. The feasibility study was done considering the information given by the people from the Calderón Parish as well as by the transporters association that work in that zone. It is omportant to mention that the director in charge of the project “Calderón Journey”, Mr. José Moreta Peñaherrera, Architect, contributed with the necessary information. The Calderón Parish has approximately 228.364 inhabitants. The sample is, then, 2.055 inhabitants. The information obtained through surveys and interviews determined the need that inhabitants have for mobility. It is convenient and necessary to create three new transportation routes that merge into the Transportation System in the Calderón Journey.
