Impacto de la intervención farmacéutica en pacientes ambulatorios conosteoporosis del Hospital IESS Riobamba

Abstract

A Pharmaceutical Intervention was provided to outpatients with osteoporosis at the IESS Riobamba hospital, with the objective of determining the impact of the Pharmaceutical Intervention in outpatients with Osteoporosis. The study was carried out in patients between 50-84 years of age, belonging to the Casa Calero IESS Riobamba group, who were chosen at random, and under the criterion of voluntary acceptance. The research applied the DADER method of pharmacotherapeutic follow-up, in which the patient's health status was analyzed, evaluating the needs related to medications through interviews and pharmacotherapeutic profile. Periodic measurements of blood pressure, weight, height, BMI, pain parameters were also taken, determining better control after the pharmaceutical intervention. The study identified 42 cases of negative results associated with medication, which were responsible for the presence of medication-related problems (DRP), including 28.6% due to antagonism, 21.4% due to quantitative insecurity, 7.1% due to non-quantitative insecurity, and 42.9% due to an insufficiently treated health problem. It can be concluded that the Pharmaceutical Intervention in Outpatients with Osteoporosis at the IESS Riobamba Hospital helps to have an efficient and safe pharmacotherapy for the patient. Therefore, it is recommended that the method continue to be applied in the hospital and implemented in other health units so that people suffering from diseases can obtain the maximum benefit from medications.
