Abstract

The present thesis is the adaptation of a Subaru flat-4 engine and transmission to view different systems for educational purposes. This allows easy and simple understanding about the functioning of the internal parts of an internal combustion engine which case opposite cylinders. Several actions were performed; compilation of information that serves as the basis in knowledge in subsequent manipulation of this adaptation as well as a reference to this type of engines. The engine and transmission evaluated its initial state proceeding in the best way in the sectioning and finish, take account of this; the medium was chosen best suited to perform the twisting, checking that they are optimal as required. Comply with various international standards was born and SSPC in this type of work, given to all elements and parts, relevant non-corrosive treatment, achieving an excellent finishing. Without neglecting the educational function included a gear motor that has the mission to spin Subaru flat-4 engine and its transmission to certain revolutions through the use of transmission elements, bearing in mind that all of this can be seen in an ergonomically proper thanks to the construction of the support for all these components. Subsequently, with the complete adaptation and conducted tests concerning performance, with satisfactory results; the inclusion of guidelines of practice becomes necessary, which will be the complement appropriate to get the most out of this adaptation.
