Abstract

The implementation of a Totally Programmed Plan of Maintenance Management for the vehicle park pertaining to the Pastaza canton G. D. A. was developed, with the purpose of extending the useful life of the vehicular fleet, reducing losses by quality defects and failures among the main ones. After analyzing the present situation of the factory it was demonstrated the non optimum conditions of the physical space of the workshop, the lack of a maintenance activity program and a total negligence in security subjects and environmental care. In the program implementation stage the personnel was trained in order to obtain cleaner and ordered places of work. Also a computer science application was designed to program the daily activities of maintenance of the vehicular fleet, based on the recommendations of the manufacturer and the suitable use of products, in the aim of avoiding unnecessary stoppages of the units by lack of optimization of the resources. A basic proposal on security and environmental care has also been emitted, taking into account the risks to which are exposed the workers and the damage that cause to the environment the remainders resulting from the maintenance activities. As obtained results is worth to mention a change of image in the facilities, a change of mentality in the workers and a high availability of the vehicular fleet following the maintenance management guidelines, controlling the warehouse of spare parts, the tools, the care of the personnel and the environment.
