Efecto de la Quillaja saponaria (Saponina comercial) en los parámetros productivos de gallinas ponedoras comerciales

Abstract

The present investigation was carried out at “María Judith” Poultry Farm located in Chimborazo Province, Chambo Canton, where the effect of the addition of Quillaja saponaria as an organic growth promoter on the productive parameters of hens of the Lohmann Brown line with an age of 53 weeks was evaluated. Four hundred hens were used during 61 days of experimentation where a completely randomized design was used, the treatments were divided into levels of 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 g/tn, versus a control treatment (0 g/tn) with 4 replications, the size of the experimental unit was 20 hens. The results obtained were as follows: the highest final weight was obtained with the addition of 1000 g/tn with 1194.3 g; the highest bird/day consumption was obtained with the addition of 2000 g/tn with 107.49 g; weight gain with the application of commercial saponin was negative; the most efficient feed conversion was obtained with the addition of 2000 g/tn with 1.86; albumin quality with the addition of 2000 g/tn reported the best results with 102.88; viability was 100% for all treatments. The highest percentage of broken eggs was obtained in the control treatment with 0.14%; the highest percentage of chopped eggs was obtained in the treatment with 1000 g/tn with 0.38%; the highest uniformity of eggs was reported in the control treatment with 93%; with respect to profit/cost, the most profitable is the addition of 2000 g/tn with 1.23 USD. Therefore, the use of Quillaja saponaria as an organic growth promoter had a positive influence on the parameters of laying hens. Therefore, it is recommended to use a level of 2000 g/tn for feeding hens in production.
