Evaluación de tres Niveles de Bagazo de Caña Enriquecido como Suplemento en las Etapas de Crecimiento y Engorde de Ovinos Corriedale.

Abstract

At the Productive Unit of Sheep and Goat Breeding from the Animal Science Faculty -ESPOCH, a study about the effect that the use of different diets with Enriched Sugar Cane Bagasse (ESCB), supplied to 16 three month old Corriedale sheep with an average weight of 17.77 kg was carried out in order to establish their productive behavior. Experimental diets were as follow: Grazing only (Diet ESCB O), 0.8 kg ECB + Grazing (Diet ESCB 800), 1.0 kg ECB + Grazing (Diet ESCB 1000) and 1.2 kg ESCB + Grazing (Portion ECB 1200). It was determined that the best productive results were show by sheep fed with 1.2 kg ESCB + Grazing (portion ECB 1200), with final weights of 34.24 kg, Increasing 17.01 kg, and best feeding conversion (5.008) against the portion ESCB O (5.525),lt is to important to mention that the voluntary feeding consumption was not affected since the total consumption in kg of Dry Matter (DM) was better with ESCB 1000 with (85,215) and the ESBC 1200 with (84,913), significant differences were not registered between both treatments, equal results are observed for the cost by kg of profit of weight between these two treatments (2,47), which is inferior to the other treatments in study. It is concluded the cost-benefit was better in all treatments using the supplement with Enriched Sugar Cane Bagasse getting the highest value ESCB 800 (0.653), there were not any other significant differences among the other treatments containing the supplement. As a conclusion, the best results were show in sheep which received the supplement with ESCB showing also better body conditions.
