Evaluación a tres tiempos de hidratación en frio con tres soluciones en las variedades haiku, virgilio y foratini de clavel (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) en Cotopaxi

Abstract

The aim of this research was to evaluate the behavior at three cold hydration times with three solutions in the varieties Haiku, Virgilio and Foratini of carnation (Dianthus caryophyllus L.) in postharvest. The methodology used had a qualitative and quantitative approach, a randomized block design was used (DBCA) with a trifactorial arrangement (AxBxC), where A are cold hydration times; B hydrating solutions; C carnation varieties with 3 replicates and 27 treatments, the economic analysis was performed by the method of partial budgets. The cubic centimeters of consumption of the hydrating solution, weight in grams of the flower stems after the hydration process and the days of vase life after 50% of the stems were measured. The results showed that there are highly significant differences for time, solution, varieties and for the interactions T x S; T x V; S x V and T x S x V, therefore, in 6 hours of hydration with EverFlor STS, the Foratini variety consumed the greatest amount of solution 260 cc; the treatment with 6 hours of hydration with EverFlor STS in the Foratini variety obtained the highest weight of stems after the hydration process with 620 g; the treatment with 6 hours of hydration with EverFlor STS in the Foratini variety obtained the longest vase life with 29 days; with the economic analysis, T1S2V3 was obtained with a high TRM with 17042.86%. In context, it is concluded that with 6 hours of hydration with EverFlor STS in the Foratini variety, higher solution consumption, weight and vase life were obtained.
