Estudio de factibilidad para la implementación de sistemas fotovoltaicos en la unidad educativa San Juan de la parroquia San Juan del cantón Riobamba

Abstract

The San Juan Educational Unit located in the San Juan parish of the Riobamba canton lacks of previous feasibility studies for the implementation of photovoltaic systems, the purpose of this study is to provide clean and renewable energy in the institution. Therefore, the objective of this research was to carry out a “Feasibility study for the implementation of photovoltaic systems in the San Juan Educational Unit of the San Juan parish of the Riobamba canton.” Through this study, we will seek to successfully establish technology in the Educational Institution, taking advantage of solar radiation in order to generate a sustainable and inexhaustible source of renewable energy. The research used a mixed methodological approach to collect quantitative and qualitative data, comprehensively addressing the questions established. Using this methodology, a feasibility study has been carried out with the purpose of presenting the educational establishment authorities with the necessary information to consider the possible implementation of photovoltaic systems in a specific time. A comparative analysis of the costs of commercial solar panels and solar panels built at ESPOCH was carried out, along with their respective components of the photovoltaic system necessary for implementation. The total cost for the first application is $7,064.83 and the total cost for the second application is $3,222.84. In conclusion, the implementation of photovoltaic systems will provide several benefits in environmental, economic and social terms. This study not only seeks to provide an efficient solution to the energy needs of the San Juan Educational Unit, but also to contribute to the development and strengthening of sustainable practices in the educational and community sphere of the Educational Institution.
