Evaluación hidráulica del sistema de bombeo del área de hidromasajes y duchas del Complejo Turístico Los Elenes del cantón Guano

Abstract

"Los Elenes" tourist attraction was affected by a flood on December 11, 2021, which brought about damages to the hydromassage and shower pumping systems; therefore, the objective of this research was to carry out a hydraulic evaluation of the pumping system of the hydromassage and shower area in "Los Elenes" tourist attraction in Guano Canton. Through a methodology that began by evaluating the current situation of the pumping systems and the hydraulic components of the hydromassage and shower area starting with a field visit, plans of the hydraulic installation were drawn up with AutoCad and Inventor programs, then the technical specifications of the pumps and other accessories were analyzed in order to establish a proposal for the repowering of the pumping system. Finally, the necessary signage was designed to avoid risks in the operation of the system using NTP 330 and NTE INEN-ISO 3864-1:2013 standards. Achieving as a result four pumps for the repowering proposal, a Pedrollo NGA 1A centrifugal pump for feeding the hydromassage and polar, a Pedrollo 3SR 2/5 submersible well pump for feeding the showers, and Pedrollo AL-RED 620-4 centrifugal pumps one for recirculation of the hydromassage and the other for recirculation of the polar; for the signage the risks were identified, which are: risk of falling to the same level, risk of collision with immobile objects, risk of electrical contact, risk of exposure to high temperatures, risk of gas intoxication and risk of falling to a different level. It was concluded that the whirlpool and polar recirculation pumps should be installed at 20 cm from the floor level to avoid damage. Based on this analysis, it is expected to improve the service focused on these areas in order to enhance tourism in the area.
