Evaluación de los riesgos laborales del centro de revisión técnica vehicular del cantón Pallatanga

Abstract

The vehicle technical inspection center in Pallatanga canton, being new, does not have a risk assessment inherent to the entire inspection process that will help protect the physical and mental integrity of all personnel. Until now, safety has depended on the management of the municipality being inefficient in dealing with the dangers that arise. Therefore, the objective of this technical project is to evaluate the risks that are present during the vehicle inspection process to improve the occupational safety of all personnel. To fulfill the objective, an actionresearch methodology was proposed, which had a qualitative orientation. The objective was to solve the problem of a particular group by applying theoretical knowledge about safety to complement it with the practical part. Thus, the study was carried out in each workplace by means of personal interviews, being fundamental the identification of the danger in different work conditions that were evaluated, hierarchized by means of codes. In the case of risks considered Moderate, Important, Intolerable, control measures were proposed, which could be to eliminate the risk at the source, collective protection measures for risk control. Through this project it was possible to identify the existing hazards in the entire vehicle inspection process and to know their risks to subsequently evaluate them. The line inspector is the person with the greatest risks in his work, while for the line driver and traffic technician the risks decrease, and for the clerk typist and traffic chief, no risks requiring preventive measures were estimated. In this point it is concluded that there are moderate uncontrolled risks in the vehicle inspection process. In addition, there is no adequate risk management, so there is no safe environment for the workers.
