Inventario del patrimonio cultural arqueológico del sitio SC-03, localidad de Lluishi, cantón Guano.

Abstract

The present research allowed us to analyze the occupations belonging to the Puruhá culture in the Lluishi plateau (Guano River micro-basin, central Andes of Ecuador), an area in which a variety of archaeological contexts (domestic, ceremonial, and road) were evidenced. It has been evidenced that within the period of Integration (800-1530 AD) no scientific research has been carried out to the contrary or to place these societies in another temporal context. Therefore, the research obiectives were to recover archaeological contexts associated with site SC-03, analyze the cultural material recorded in the archaeological contexts, and characterize archaeologically. The methodology implemented focused on the use of bibliographic research techniques to contextualize the presence of the Puruhá in the Andean área. In addition, an aerial analysis was conducted using a drone where anomalies were recorded and the size and orientation of the site, location, visibility, and photographic record were identified, maps and sketches of the site were also designed with the help of Google Earth Pro-7.3, and finally, a laboratory analysis of all the material recorded at the site was conducted, to classify and code it. As a result, a variety of cultural material was identified that alludes to a period of integration of the Puruhá culture. It was evidenced that the survey site not only belonged to a ceremonial/ritual space, but presumably, it was also a lithic workshop- To sum up, this research allowed identifying that the site SC-03 is a monumental space, It is in a poor state of conservation and its integrity is moderately destroyed. Therefore, it is recommended that the local government of Guano generate a municipal ordinance to conserve the archaeological site.
