Implementación de buenas prácticas de turismo sostenible en el centro de turismo comunitario La Moya, cantón Riobamba, provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

This research aimed at implementing good sustainable tourism practices in La Moya Community Tourism Center, Riobamba Canton, Chimborazo Province, which was carried out using a logical deductive method; gathering primary information through participatory observation and secondary information from reliable sources. The research was carried out in four stages: in the first stage, a situational diagnosis of the community tourism center was carried out using direct observation and analyzing the data and historical processes of the creation of the CTC. In the second stage, an ex-ante evaluation of quality compliance required by the TourCert norm was carried out through the minimum quality standards required by the same. In the third stage, the good practices of sustainable tourism were prioritized and implemented in which qualitative and quantitative data collection methods were applied as a data collection tool, thus taking the parameters of the TourCert certification. As part of this analysis, certain aspects were taken into consideration, such as the TourCert report resulting from Eco mapping and the application of the Checklist, and finally, in stage four, the Ex-Post evaluation of the good sustainable results of tourism practices was developed, where it is observed that the previous evaluation reached a percentage of compliance of 51% thus implementing 22 quality standards, but, the Ex-post evaluation shows that the application of good practices of sustainable tourism in the Community Tourism Center La Moya reported 51% to 100% percentage enough to get the TourCert quality certification. Thus recommending the community to work with the auditor to verify and maintain the minimum quality standards implemented.
