Implementación de buenas prácticas de almacenamiento, distribución y transporte de medicamentos y dispositivos médicos en la farmacia La Rebaja, del cantón Píllaro

Abstract

The pharmacy "La Rebaja", Píllaro canton does not have SOPs that guarantee the quality of pharmaceutical products during their traceability chain and allowing to control the conditions of conservation, characteristics, and stability to avoid economic losses, for this reason, the objective of this research is the Implementation of Good Practices of Storage, Distribution, and Transport of medicines and medical devices in the pharmacy "La Rebaja", Píllaro canton. The methodology implemented has a qualitative and quantitative approach, a non-experimental cross-sectional design was used because there will be no manipulation of the variables and was developed in the period from September 2022 – March 2023, the sample covers all existing drugs and medical devices in the pharmacy. Getting information, a Check List was used. The evaluation of the initial situation of the pharmacy was carried out, finding a 46.66% non-compliance, and based on the results obtained, corrective actions were applied such as the signage of the various areas of the pharmacy and the elaboration of Standardized Operating Procedures (SOPs), based on the regulations of the Agencia Nacional de Regulación, Control y Vigilancia Sanitaria (ARCSA) in 2022 and manuals of the Ministry of Public Health (MSP). The implementation of 9 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) was carried out, which were socialized to the pharmacy staff, after this, a final evaluation was made after said implementation finding a 1.6% non-compliance, thus improving the initial situation of the pharmacy. It is concluded that the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) allows a better organization of personnel and adequate storage, distribution, and transport of medicines and medical devices.
