Diseño y evaluación de una red de acceso óptica para el sector urbano del cantón Chambo mediante el estándar ITU G987.X.

Abstract

The objective of this curricular integration work was to design an FTTH network using the G.987.X standard to provide Triple Play services in the urban area of Chambo canton, for which a study of demand and feasibility was carried out within the population of the city through the application of surveys. The architecture of the distribution network for Triple Play services was designed based on the requirements of the population in the area, it was necessary to analyze the different technical aspects of the FTTx networks supported by the ITU 987.X standard, in order to determine the appropriate architecture and topology, it was decided to use XGPON technology for the elaboration of the main network or fedder network, distribution network and dispersion network. Through the use of the simulation software OptiSystem 17.0, the technical parameters and the operation of the proposed network in the city of the Chambo canton were evaluated, the calculation of parameters such as: the link budget, attenuation level, BER, quality factor (Factor Q) and eye diagram was essential to verify the optimal functioning of the network, focusing on the closest and the furthest user, where the results obtained were favorable, complying with the parameters specified in the ITU G.987.x standard. It is concluded that the design of the FTTH network for Triple Play services in the urban area of the Chambo canton is feasible, since it provides an optimal and quality service, with transmission speeds of 10 gigabits of download and 2.5 gigabits of upload to give the voice, video and data service. It is recommended for future designs and implementations of GPON networks, they are subject to current regulations and current corrections, since many parameters and specifications detailed in the ITU G987.X standard are still under development.
