Implementación de un sistema web responsive de gestión de inventarios y servicios de catering para la empresa “J&S Catering Service”

Abstract

The objective of this curricular integration work was to implement a responsive web system for inventory management and catering services for the company "J&S Catering Service" using the SCRUM methodology. We utilized as data collection techniques: literature review, interview, process diagrams and observation in order to describe the benefits of responsive web design and analyze business processes. We utilized the following tools for the development: the Visual Studio Code editor, the Laravel framework based on the PHP programming language and Bootstrap; the PHPUnit framework was utilized for the execution of unit tests. On the other hand, the data repository was implemented in the MariaDB Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). In addition, we applied the ISO/IEC 25010 standard to evaluate performance efficiency, through the sub characteristics of time behavior and resource utilization. For this purpose, the most important processes carried out by the company were considered as the population and a sample was calculated for an infinite population with a confidence level of 95% and a margin of error of 5%. After the evaluation, we found out that the system was 90% efficient. The Wilcoxon non-parametric test showed that the average time for carrying out the processes with the system is less than the average manual time. Consequently, it is concluded that with the implementation of the responsive web system developed through SCRUM, the efficiency of the processes carried out in the company J&S Catering Service was improved. It is recommended to implement an electronic invoicing module, in order to have support on the commercial operations carried out by the company.
