Abstract

The purpose of this research project is to improve the quality service of the public transportation in the city of Machala, which is one of the most used means of transportation in the world and has covered the need to move from one place to another for different users with diverse economies contributing to a sustainable urban mobility, which is why, through a non-experimental research through a qualitative and quantitative approach and applying methods such as inductive, deductive, synthetic and analytical have been applied and examined observation on the behavior of users and drivers at the time of collection/payment of the passages, as well as the study of the questionnaires that were applied to each member of the transport operators and users, in the same way through the information obtained of the regulatory entity of the mentioned transport operators, research into similar models from other cities and databases from investigative sources, an analysis could be carried out documentary resulting in evidencing the deficiency of the service provided by the transport operators among cantons with constant unfair competition and inadequate management through which they manage the mentioned transport companies that have led them to poor economic results, for this reason it is proposed that a system of common fund with the formation of a consortium with the three operators of the city of Machala and with the change to an electronic collection system, allowing the management of the flow of funds through a trust.
