Comprobación de la Actividad Cicatrizante de los Extractos Hidroalcohólicos de Berro Nasturtium officinale) y LLánten (Plántago major).

Abstract

Objective: to test the healing activity of water-alcohol extracts of Watercress (Nasturtium officinale) and Plantain (Plantago major) in Mus musculus mice, in order to provide natural products against the use of drugs, was carried out in phytochemistry laboratories, Faculty of Sciences, ESPOCH, was evaluated with wound induction test on the back of 18 mice (Mus musculus), 1.5cm long by 2mm deep for application of 6 treatments being these: C (Control +) =Treated with Eterol, D (control) = Treated with 50% alcohol, X, Y and Z (Dosages) = Treated with fluid extract of Watercress and Plantain in proportion of: 60:40, 40:60 and 50:50 respectively, administered topically and 2 applications per day for 20 days, monitoring the infection by observation. The results were subjected to statistical analysis with Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) with a confidence interval of 95 %. It was concluded that the fluid extract of watercress and plantain in dosage ratio 50:50 and 60:40 have effective healing activity in a period of 6 to 7 days due to the presence of tannins from plantain and flavonoids from watercress which when combined present synergy, while the standard drug Eterol, alcohol at 50% and the fluid extract of watercress and plantain in ratio 40:60 do not have healing effect, they act as antibacterial, taking 8-10 days to close the wound completely. It is concluded that the hydroalcoholic extracts of Watercress (Nasturtium officinal) and Plantain (Plantago major) have healing activity in minor cutaneous wounds affirming the hypothesis proposed, and when applied topically to the experimental groups they do not present adverse effects at cutaneous level.
