“Propuesta de señalización horizontal y vertical en el cantón Las Naves, provincia de Bolívar”

Abstract

The objective of this research work was to present a proposal for horizontal and vertical signaling in the canton of Las Naves, Bolivar province, complying with the requirements of the Ecuadorian technical regulations such as INEN 004 - 01 and INEN 004 - 02, to provide a free circulation of users on the roads. As a result of the study, the lack of vertical signage in the canton of Las Naves became evident. In addition, it could be seen that the canton of Las Naves has demarcated horizontal signage and that it complies with the measures stipulated in the Ecuadorian technical regulation INEN 004 - 01, however, what this horizontal signage does not comply with is good visibility required by the regulation, due to the wear of its paint. This causes disorderly traffic inside the roads of the canton of Las Naves, due to the lack of vertical signaling. Therefore, it is recommended to re-demarcate this horizontal signage by performing corrective preventive maintenance; and thus comply with the requirements of the technical standard INEN 004-01 to have good visibility. In addition, there is a need to implement 44 stop disc signs, 116 two-way signs, 2 handicapped parking signs, and 2 bus stop parking signs.
