Determinación de los servicios ecosistémicos culturales y de aprovisionamiento para Furcraea andina y Agave americana en la microcuenca del río Guano.

Abstract

The objective of this work was to characterize the cultural and provisioning ecosystem services of the white cabuya (Furcraea andina) and black cabuya (Agave americana) in Guano river micro- basin by obtaining various variables such as: physical and mental recreation, tourism, aesthetic appreciation and inspiration for art, among others. The type of research was exploratory and descriptive, where a search for primary information was carried out in indexed journals on taxonomy, botanical description and ecosystem services of these, for subsequent analysis and systematization of this,it joined with the field study where conducted semi-structured interviews in two urban parishes (El Rosario and La Matriz), along with three rural parishes (Valparaíso, San Gerardo, and San Andrés). Due to the type of research management, a qualitative approach was taken where theories, hypotheses and concepts about cabuya were built, starting directly from the data through the use of the constant comparative method, recovering the cognitive meanings and resignifications materialized based on opinions, knowledge and experiences on ecosystem goods and services of these species. It was determined that there are 8 cultural and supply ecosystem services in Guano river micro-basin, where the white cabuya (Furcraea andina) and black cabuya (Agave americana) are considered as an economic pillar in various family nuclei due to their great artisanal and curative properties. Principles focused on guidelines for ecosystem supply and cultural services attached to two Andean festivals such as the "Inti Raimi" and the "Fiesta de la Coraza". It is concluded that the highest percentage of cultural services is found in the memory of the inhabitants and those of provisioning as current-vulnerable services. It is recommended that the institutions in charge of safeguarding the cultural and natural heritage prepare plans, programs and projects aimed at strengthening it.
