Abstract

This Project aimed to design a bicycle tourism route in the Ilapo-Valparaíso, Guano Cantón, Chimborazo province, through the collection of primary and secondary information and with the help of a survery, the target market for this Project is econimically active. The villages in Ilapo and Valparaíso have tourist attractions of hierarchy II, which allow them to have a tourist potential suitable for cycling. The route is determined by three degrees of difficulty: hard, médium and easy, for which three categories were established in terms of their typology: specilized downhill cyclist, specialized cross-country cyclists, and children or beginner mountain bikers. Its evaluation was established through two elements, which are the tourism system and the technical elements of the bicycle, the results obtained show that this activity can be carried out there. As for the environmental analysis, this project does not have a major impacto n the environment, since the rural áreas are surrounded by a natural environment. In addition, mitigation measures were determined that will reduce the negative impacts generated by this activity. The financal evaluation determined that it is economically viable since the results obtained were a positive NPV of $43,098.98, and IRR of 28.60%, and an RBS of 2.11, that is, for every dollar invested there will be 1.11 cents of profit, and its investment will be recovered between the third and fourth year during the operation of the project.
