Abstract

This research involves a feasibility project developed for the company El Familión S.A.: This project aims to open a new branch in the southern area of Esmeraldas city, taking advantage of its local recognition and the opportunities that represent to focus on this rapidly growing sector in the city. This research process includes a market, technical, administrative and legal, financial study and respective evaluations to determine the conditions and requirements necessary to open the new branch. Another fundamental reason to conduct these studies mentioned above was to determine the investment and profitability of the project and, finally, establish whether El Familión S.A. can carry it out. The unsatisfied demand of the Esmeraldas canton was calculated in approximately 8,132 consumers. Another essential step during this research was developing a market study becoming the basis for a Marketing Mix. It was determined that El Familión S.A. counts on the necessary infrastructure for the new branch. The project was classified as profitable with a B/C ratio of 2.03, an IRR (Internal Rate of Return) of 85% and an NPV (Net Present Value) of $213,887.00. The total investment was estimated at $413,887, making this a viable, feasible and profitable project for El Familión S.A
