Abstract

The objective of the Study of Relevance of the Finance Degree is to respond to the expectations and needs of the educational society in the face of the supply and demand found in zone 3 through surveys of third-year high school students, graduate students in the faculty and managers of medium and large companies. The methodology had a qualitative approach because data was collected for the definition of background and the current situation of the Finance Career of the Faculty of Business Administration of the Higher Polytechnic School of Chimborazo, at the same time it was quantitative since they applied techniques of statistics for the analysis of the information obtained through surveys of 325 third-year high school students and 100 business managers. It was determined that within Chimborazo province in Riobamba city, there are two large Institutions: ESPOCH and UNACH both have administrative careers, ESPOCH being the most welcomed since it has students from different areas of Ecuador. Identifying that only 8% of students opt for a Finance career and in the workplace, 41% agree on the importance of having a financier in the entity. It is concluded that through the Study of Relevance of the Finance Career, third-year high school students and business managers. They have no knowledge of what the Finance Career is. Therefore, it is recommended to create training programs for college students and agreements with companies in which the development of practices can create skills for students to face the labour market.
