“Elaboración de una guía técnica de seguridad vial para el transporte comercial del cantón Chillanes, provincia de Bolívar periodo 2022-2023”

Abstract

The objective of this research project was to develop a technical road safety guide for commercial transportation in Chillanes canton, Bolivar province, for the period 2022-2023, with the purpose of preventing the factors that generate risks or traffic accidents. The research work was conducted using a quantitative approach that allowed gathering information on the current situation of commercial transportation in Chillanes canton, thus being able to determine the causes that generate road insecurity. The research was carried out by means of surveys to 92 people which were directed to commercial transport drivers of different companies in the canton such as conventional cab operators CACIQUE CHILLAN S.A, TAXICHILLANES S.A, COOP. CLAROTAXI SANTA ROSA and light cargo operators RANSAMPEGUA S.A, TAMBEÑITAS LID S.A, BUCAY S.A. It was found that the most relevant factors that cause traffic accidents are road conditions, vertical signaling and horizontal signaling. It is concluded that commercial transport drivers do not have the necessary tools to perform their duties. Finally, a technical guide on Road Safety is proposed, which contains strategies to face risk factors such as human, vehicular and environmental risk, promoting respect for life and the current traffic regulations in the country. Therefore, it is recommended to train commercial transport drivers to strengthen their knowledge and encourage compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by the traffic law.
